Day 1 - Today depart on award winning Emirates Airlines flight to Delhi via Dubai
Day 2 - On arrival in Delhi you will be met by an English speaking guide with a private transfer to the Sheraton ITC Delhi for 2 nights on a bed and Breakfast basis. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore Delhi
Day 3 - After breakfast, a private sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi has been arranged for you with an English-speaking guide in an air-conditioned vehicle.
This morning we visit Old Delhi the tour starts by driving past the magnificent Red Fort (Red Fort is closed on Mondays), visit the old Jama Masjid the largest mosque in Delhi, drive past Kotla Firone Shah, ruins of an 14th century fort then on to Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1945 and onwards through the Old City.
In the afternoon you will visit New Delhi, drive past Rashtrapati the Presidential Palace, then through the Raipath (The Kings Way) a ceremonial boulevard leading to India Gate the World War I memorial arch. Visit Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 by his grieving widow Haji Bgum then on the the Outub Minar the 72 meter Minaret.
This evening would be a great time to experience traditional Indian food then try Dilli-ki-Chaat the local street food area in Old Delhi.
Day 4 - After breakfast and check-out your driver will collect you for the 2 hour (approximate) drive to Agra and transfer to the ITC Mughal Agra on a bed and breakfast basis.
This afternoon enjoy a city hour of Agra visiting the Taj Mahal, the Seventh Wonder of the World, built by Mughal Icon Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Queen Mumtaz (please note the Taj is closed on Fridays). The Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and universally admired masterpiece of the world’s heritage. Onwards to Agra Fort situated near the Taj Mahal, this 16th century Mughal monument is known as the Red Fort of Agra, a powerful fortress of red sandstone, inside its 2.5km enclosure walls is the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. Along with two very beautiful mosques there are beautiful palaces Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal built by Shah Jahan, You will visit Chambers of Kings, Common Man and the prisons, from here you will find spectacular views of the Taj Mahal.
Day 5 - After an early breakfast and check-out we proceed by road to Jaipur approximately 240 kms and a five hour drive, stopping after 37 kms at Fatehpur Sikri the ghost city build in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later. On arrival in Jaipur check into the ITC Rajputana on a bed and breakfast basis. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Jaipur.
Day 6 - After breakfast a private sightseeing tour of Jaipur has been arranged in an air conditioned vehicle with English speaking guide, drive 11 kms out of the city to reach the Fort of Amber. The name ‘Amber’ derives from the Goddess Amba Mata (Mother Earth) worshipped by the local tribes at the site prior to the fort complex being built. You now have the choice of reaching the fort on Elephant Back or by open jeep; the elephant ride is reminiscent of how the Kings used to travel in their Gold Era. Day 7 - This morning after breakfast and check-out depart by road to Ranthambore, approximately 146 kms a 3 hour drive check into the Luxurious Nahargarh Hotel in a Superior room, breakfast lunch and dinner is provided during your stay. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this wonderful resort.
Days 8, 9 - On both days, we have arranged an early morning and afternoon safari for you to explore Ranthambore National Park one of the largest and famous national park in Northern India, located in the Sawaii Madhopur district of South Eastern Rajasthan and the former hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, today it is a wildlife lover’s destination. Spread over 1,334 square kilometres the park is famous for its tigers and is one of the best locations in India to see the majestic predators in their natural habitat. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957 and gaining its protection of ‘Project Tiger’ in 1974 the park is dotted with ruins of bygone era giving this park a wonderful and unique flavour of nature, history and wildlife.
Day 10 - A very early morning breakfast, check-out and transfer to Sawaii Madhopur Railway Station to board Train 12059 Kota Janshatadbi at 0705 arriving in Delhi at 1230, on arrival you will be met and transferred to the Maidens Hotel for one night on a bed and breakfast basis. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or continue exploring the vibrant city of Delhi.
Day 11 - Check out from the hotel with a private transfer to the airport for your Emirates Airlines flight home. |
