Queenstown, New Zealand enjoys one of the most spectacular and dramatic settings in the world. With a backdrop of the dramatic ‘Remarkables’ Mountains resting on the shores of the magnificent Lake Wakatipu is known as ‘the adventure capital of the world’ with high adrenaline adventures and activities in and around this beautiful town. Spend three days exploring Queenstown with an unforgettable cruise on the majestic Milford Sound.

On arrival at Queenstown Airport, there is a coach transfer to the Rydges Lakeland Resort in a Superior Room for 2 nights.

The stylish Ben Lomond Restaurant offers casual dining with delicious contemporary New Zealand cuisine, a wonderful spot to enjoy dinner with stunning views over Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables Range of Mountains, relax after dinner with a nightcap at the Fireside Lounge Bar. After a day of exhilarating activities in Queenstown, or a day skiing or snowboarding on the slopes, enjoy the wonderful hot spa pool overlooking the lake.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the adventure capital of the world. Enjoy a fun afternoon on River on the exhilarating Shotover Rivet Jet boat; skim the surface of the Shotover River, with fishtail turns, 360-degree spins at high speed as you speed through narrow canyon walls. For a more sedate river adventure go Kayaking on the Dart River, in the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage listed Mount Aspiring National Park. New Zealand is, of course, known for its award winning wines, take a wine tour of the beautiful Central Otago region, once famous for its history of Gold Mining, now more famous for delicious wines, travel through stunning valleys, vine-clad foothills and enjoy trying the regions finest wines. A visit to Middle Earth for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans is a must, you will recognise the spectacular scenery immediately, tour the countryside in a 4WD vehicle and visit the Fortress of Isengard, Forest of Lothlorien and other famous locations. Alternatively, you could throw caution to the wind and yourself off the Nevis Highwire Bungy jump with an amazing 134-meter (440 feet) drop!

New Zealand is famous for its eclectic fusion cuisine Queenstown will not disappoint foodies, an extensive list of centrally located restaurants everything from Mexican, Chinese and Italian to formal fine dining. For a dinner with a difference, cruise across Lake Wakatipu on board the TSS Earnslaw Vintage Steamship to Walter Peak High Country Farm, to the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant. Enjoy a unique ambience with an amazing menu of New Zealand specialties.

An early morning start this morning with a pick up at 0720 for your full day tour into the heart of the spectacular Milford Sound. Travel past dense rainforest, glacier carved valleys, beautiful waterfalls across the Southern Alps through Fjord Land to the fascinating Mirror Lakes and Eglinton Valley, filled with ancient alpine forests and waterfalls, before travelling deep into the Homer Tunnel. Once at Milford Sound, board your Scenic Cruise for a leisurely cruise on this spectacular Fjord, with a backdrop provided by Mitre Peak, an iconic image of New Zealand, past glacier scarred rock walls, tumbling waterfalls crashing down huge cliff faces into the sea. Part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site, over 26,000 km and covering four national parks, an area of intense natural beauty and widely considered one of the World’s top travel destinations. At the end of your cruise, travel back to Queenstown arriving back around 1945, in time for dinner.
