Depart London Heathrow on TAM Airlines for your flight to Salvador.
Day 1
On arrival, there is a transfer to Vila Gale Salvador, the rest of the day is at leisure to explore this fascinating cultural melting pot.The state of Bahia capital city is possibly one of the oldest in Brazil, with an eclectic mixture of Brazilian, African and Portuguese cultures, reflected in its architecture, cuisine and lifestyle.
Day 2
After breakfast, there is a full day tour to explore this fascinating city, known as ‘The city of 365 churches', with its baroque architecture and rich religious history. Our tour takes us to Pelourinho with its sad history of punishing slaves, the square dominated by the beautiful Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People church, with its distinctive blue facade, now home to the largest group of charming Brazilian colonial architecture. After lunch (not included) our tour will take in the Lower City, filled with beautiful colonial buildings located next to futuristic modern constructions sitting in perfect harmony, in a myriad of colours. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Salvador independently.
Day 3
After breakfast, there is a transfer to the hotel for your flight to Manaus, on arrival there is a transfer to the Amazon Village. Manaus is the meeting point of the two great rivers Negro and Solimoes, to form the magnificent Amazon, home to many of the colourful riverboats now a duty free port. This evening there is a buffet dinner and a tour to spot the Alligators.
Day 4
After breakfast at the lodge, there is a Jungle Trek into the Amazon to view this spectacular and ancient rainforest, the largest tropical rainforest on earth. Its captivating beauty and rich diverse eco system is fascinating and home to thousands of species of animals, mammals, fish, birds, trees and plants. Return back to the lodge for a Buffet lunch before heading out in the afternoon for a Reconnaissance Tour. This evening there is a Buffet dinner where you can share your experiences with your fellow travellers.
Day 5
Following breakfast at the lodge, there is a fishing trip along the Amazon and a visit to a Native Dwelling, followed by a Buffet Lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure at the Amazon Jungle Lodge, followed by a Buffet Dinner in the evening.
Day 6
After breakfast, there is a transfer to Manaus for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival, there is a transfer to the Arena Copacabana Hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure to explore one of Brazil's famous and possibly one of the most beautiful cities.
Day 7
After breakfast at the hotel, there is a visit to Corcovado, home to one of the most famous statues on earth, Christ the Redeemer, dominating the Rio de Janeiro skyline. This afternoon is at leisure to explore Rio indepenently, visit the iconic beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, or head into the colonial centre, take the tram to Santa Teresa, a beautiful bohemian town.
Day 8
Today the final day of your tour starts with breakfast at your hotel, followed by a cable car ride up to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain for your last spectacular views of Rio and Guanabara Bay. Then onwards to the airport for your return flight to the United Kingdom.
