Day 1 - Nairobi & Lake Naivasha: Prepare for an exciting time as soon as you land in Nairobi. You will be welcomed by your friendly guide who will take you to your charming lodge. Be sure to look out of your window as you travel west through Kenya's fertile highlands, where rolling tea and coffee estates abound. Then suddenly to your left, the trees will part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. Your panoramic journey will then take you to Lake Naivasha, with its Crescent Island. You are bound to have worked up an appetite after such a busy start to the day. So it is handy that you will arrive at the lodge – the Lake Naivasha Country Club - in time for lunch. You will have time to relax and freshen up before the late afternoon, where you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Simply sit back, relax and let the wilderness float by. As night falls, you will return to the lodge for dinner and a well-earned rest.
Day 2 - Lake Naivasha & Maasai Mara Game Reserve: Today you will start the day at the crack of dawn to watch the animal kingdom wake up. You will not have to explore on an empty stomach as you will enjoy an early morning breakfast before experiencing an escorted ‘Bird Walk’. Then you will be driven to Narok town via Mai-Mahiu where you will have a brief stop, before proceeding on to Mara. You will arrive in time for lunch at the camp, where a delicious feast will await you. Following lunch, you will embark on an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled as you venture through the bush, which is home to all members of the “Big Five”. This includes lion, leopard, African elephant, African buffalo, and black rhinoceros. That’s not all, as you are also bound to spot Nile crocodiles, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. You will return to the lodge as the sun sets. You will stay here on a full board basis, which means you can enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge before retiring to your bed.
Day 3 - Maasai Mara Game Reserve: Today, you will experience the sheer beauty of Africa as you spend the day exploring the vast plains of the Maasai Mara. Your adventure will start with an early game drive before breakfast. You will return to the lodge for all your meals after working up an appetite from experiencing the gems of this stunning land. You will adore your time at this reserve, which is an extension of the Serengeti eco-system to the south. Game abounds here, particularly when the migration is on, and millions of wildebeests and zebras make their way back and forth across the Mara River on their annual trek. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black manned males. You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as, leopard, cheetah and rhino. All the “Big Five” are residents and you're sure to see them all roaming free here.
The huge expanse of grassland covers 320 square kilometres and is dotted with distinctive flat-topped acacia trees is watered by two rivers, Mara River and Talek River. It is also home to the nomadic Maasai people, who can be seen grazing their cattle, usually brightly dressed in red chequered capes. Just make sure you have your cameras ready to snap lots of holiday selfies.
Day 4 - Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Nairobi & Mombasa: Start the day with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for a busy day of sightseeing and travel. After breakfast, you will leave the Maasai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok. From here, you will cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. You will arrive into Nairobi - Kenya’s bustling capital- in the early afternoon. You will dropped-off at Jomo Kenyatta airport for your onward flight to Mombasa. Once you land, you will be welcomed by a friendly guide, who will greet you as soon as your plane touches down. Together, you will travel to the Southern Palms Beach Resort Hotel, where you will spend 6 blissful days at leisure. This stunning hotel oozes luxury and charm – making it the ideal spot to forget all your worries and cares.
Day 5 to 9 – Mombasa: You will spend the next few days fulfilling your heart’s desire. To truly unwind, head to the spa and treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment. If you want some adventure, then a host of water sport facilities are also on offer. Guests can also take a stroll through the resort’s lush garden, or swim in its pool. Best of all, the resort is near the beach, which provides an ideal spot to sunbath in or enjoy stunning sunsets. You will stay here on an all-inclusive basis, which means you do not have to worry about meal times thanks to the hotel’s restaurant, which offers a variety of delicious cuisine.
Day 10 - Mombasa to Nairobi: Take time to enjoy a leisurely morning before the afternoon, when you will be collected from your hotel and taken to Moi Airport. For there, you will board your onward flight to Nairobi. As soon as you land, you will be welcomed and taken to The Lazizi Hotel. Feel free to unwind inside the hotel or venture out and explore Nairobi, which is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city as it blends a maddening concrete jungle with untrammpled natural beauty.
Day 11 – Departure: Today, your African experience will sadly come to an end. After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta to travel back to the UK. As you board the flight, your mind will be buzzing with the adventures you’ve enjoyed.
