Day 1 – Arrival: Buckle up for a wild adventure as soon as you land in Nairobi. You will be welcomed by a friendly guide who will take you to your charming lodge. During your journey, be sure to look out of your window as you travel west through Kenya's fertile highlands, where rolling tea and coffee estates are abound. You will be wowed when the trees part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley- with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. Your panoramic journey will take you to Lake Elementaita, which is home to flamingos and pelicans. You will finally arrive at your camp - Sentrim Elementaita Lodge - by midday. You’re bound to be hungry, so you will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch at the camp before departing on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Have your camera ready as you look for a variety of birds and 56 different mammal species including white rhinos. After such an amazing day, you will return to the lodge as the sun sets. You will stay here on a full board basis, which means you can enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge before retiring to your bed.
Day 2 - Lake Elementaita & Masai Mara Game Reserve: Start the day with an early morning breakfast, before you are driven to Narok town. You will travel here via Mai-Mahiu with a brief rest stop before you arrive at your camp in the Masai Mara for lunchtime. After a scrumptious meal, you will be ready to embark on an afternoon game drive. This reserve is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south, which means game is abound here. This is particularly true during the migration, when millions of wildebeests and zebras make their way back and forth across the Mara River on their annual trek. The Mara is also famous for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black manned males. You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as, leopard, cheetah and rhino. You will return to the camp as the sun sets to enjoy an overnight stay at Mara Sentrim Camp on a full board basis.
Day 3- Masai Mara Game Reserve: Today will be spent exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara, starting early with a game drive before breakfast, and returning to the camp for meals. You will be wowed as you travel through the huge expanse of grassland, which covers 320 sq km and is dotted with distinctive flat-topped acacia trees that are watered by two rivers, Mara River and Talek River. It is also home to the nomadic Masai people, who can be seen grazing their cattle, usually brightly dressed in red chequered capes.
Day 4- Masai Mara Game Reserve, Nairobi & Mombasa: Fuel up on a hearty breakfast to prepare for a busy day of travel. Today you will leave the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, before crossing the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley. During your travels, be sure to keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before you arrive in Nairobi. From here you will be taken to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for a flight to Mombasa. Once you arrive at the airport, you will be welcomed by a friendly representative who will take you to your home for the next 5 days - Pinewood Beach Resort & Spa. You will be wowed as soon as you step foot inside this laid-back retreat, which is set on a quiet white-sand beach. So, feel free to head to the beach for a relaxing stroll or to enjoy a dip in the ocean.
Day 5 to 8 - Mombasa: You will spend the next 4-days fulfilling your heart’s desire. To truly unwind, head to the spa and treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment. If you want some adventure, then a host of water sport facilities are also on offer. Guests can also take a stroll through the resort’s lush garden, or swim in its pool. Best of all, the resort is near the beach, which provides an ideal spot to sunbath in or enjoy stunning sunsets. You will stay here on either a half-board or an all-inclusive basis, which means you do not have to worry about meal times thanks to the hotel’s restaurant, which offers a variety of delicious cuisine.
Day 9 - Mombasa to Nairobi: Wake up to the sound of the sea crashing on the nearby shore. Take time to enjoy a leisurely morning before the afternoon, when you will be collected from your hotel and taken to Moi Airport. For there, you will board your onward flight to Nairobi. As soon as you land, you will be welcomed and taken to Hilton Garden Inn. Feel free to unwind inside the hotel or venture out and explore Nairobi, which is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city as it blends a maddening concrete jungle with untrampled natural beauty.
Day 10 – Departure: Today, your African experience will sadly come to an end. After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta to travel back to the UK. As you board the flight, your mind will be buzzing with the adventures you’ve enjoyed.
