Thailand offers several small islands, each offering unique sights of their own, that are easily accessible within an hour or two by boat. Many have excellent snorkelling and diving sites, while others simply offer nice patches of sand on which to spend a quiet day. Access is generally via long-tail boat or charter an island-hopping tour.
Bangkok is a national treasure house and Thailand’s spiritual, cultural, political, commercial and educational centre. It is home to one-tenth of the country's population and to many major tourist attractions including glittering Buddhist temples, palaces, timeless canal and river scenes, classical dance extravaganzas and numerous shopping centres.
Koh Samui, Thailand’s third largest island, is situated 700km South of Bangkok. Over the last two decades, it has blossomed into one of Asia’s leading holiday destinations. Samui has a magical formula with soft sand beaches shaded by towering palms, delicious fresh seafood and a vibrant nightlight that casts a spell on everyone.
Pattaya, situated an hour and a half southeast of Bangkok, is Asia’s premier beach resort offering equal appeal to families and couples. This once tiny fishing village has developed into a renowned international playground, alive with activity, offering more attractions than any other single destination in Southeast Asia.
Phuket, Thailand's largest island, nestles against the Indian Ocean Coast approximately 870km south of Bangkok. Phuket's coastline boasts some of the finest beaches. A variety of activities are available including: jungle trekking, snorkelling, island tours, trips to the National Parks and temples or a visit to Patong where you will find beaches, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and discotheques.
