Best of Indochina Tour Itinerary:
Day 1 Hanoi Arrival (D)
Meet & greet at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Your guide will provide you with a welcome kit, which contains all the necessary information about your journey. The rest of the day is free at your leisure. Early afternoon we go on a short cyclo tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter and a walk through the 36 Guild Streets before enjoying Hanoi’s world-famous water puppet theatre and a welcome dinner.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B,L,D)
After breakfast we cross the Red River and head out to Halong. The three-hour drive stops en route at Hong Ngoc, where we will have time for a drink and see local people manufacturing different kinds of handicrafts. In Ha Long Bay we board a traditional luxury junk for a fantastic two days cruise through the Ha Long Bay UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight onboard Bhaya Cruises.
Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi (Brunch)
We wake up in our luxury Bhaya Cruises cabin and continue cruising in the morning. We disembark and return to Hanoi in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free to enjoy some shopping and exploring of Vietnam’s capital. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi - Luang Prabang (B)
In the morning, enjoy the main sights of Hanoi, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed Monday, Friday and in October and November) and Ho Chi Minh’s former residence, the One-pillar pagoda and the Temple of Literature, the very first university of Vietnam. Then transfer to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang. Your local guide welcomes you and takes you to the hotel for check in. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure. Go for a stroll through town and enjoy the sunset over the Mekong River.
Day 5: Luang Prabang (B)
Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional old town in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town combined with splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful UNESCO World Heritage Sites to visit anywhere in the world. Today we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai; The National Museum at the former Royal Palace and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, which represents the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temples. We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the lively Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles from the hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 6: Luang Prabang – Siem Reap (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, leisure time until the airport transfer for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, our guide will pick you up and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, we start our visit of Angkor Thom and visit Phnom Bakheng to view the sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 7: Siem Reap – Discover Angkor (B)
After breakfast, we depart for a full day of sightseeing and visiting Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and Banteay Srey Temple. Angkor Wat is truly one of the most impressive archeological sites in the world, the variety and distinct look of the temple complex give it a truly unique character. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 8: Siem Reap – Discover Angkor (B)
Today we continue to explore Angkor Wat UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit the Roluos Group Temples, Ta Som and Preah Khan. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 9: Siem Reap – Saigon (B)
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to the city for check-in to the hotel.
HCMC is one of the leading economical metropolises in Southeast Asia. We discover the bustling city and visit the Cathedral and Old Post Office on our city tour. We end the day with a visit to busy China Town. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 10: Saigon – Mekong Delta (B,L)
We depart from the hotel in the morning and drive southwards to the Mekong Delta.
On arrival, we enjoy a boat trip to Ben Tre to visit some small islands. We will have the opportunity to try some exotic fruits in one of the many orchards. You will also get to know how people make coconut cakes and local candy. For lunch we serve you the local delicacy, the so-called Elephant’s-Ear fish. In the afternoon, we drive back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 11: Departure (B)
Leisure time until transfer to Saigon Airport for your departure or stay longer and spend some time on one of our beautiful beaches.
