Planning - First consider where you want to go - determine your port of departure and the ports you want to visit. Then decide what cruise company and ship you prefer. If travelling with family, look out for cruise lines that cater for children. Many have special supervised kids programs and special children's menus. Do your research well before booking a reservation.

Discounts and Cheap Cruise ship Deals - Cruise ship lines have been known to offer some fantastic discounts at the last minute in order to move unsold cabins or avoid leaving with a less than full passenger load.

Cabins - The location of the cabin is an important consideration when booking a cruise ship. The interior cabins on the lower parts of the ship are generally the least costly, while the higher, larger cabins with ocean views are the most expensive.

Respect the Dress Code Guidelines - Cruise ships will often post some clothing guidelines for dinner or live entertainment for that day.

Keep a handy supply of small denominational bills, usually one’s and five’s. Tipping is appreciated for porters and stewards.
