
Corbett National Park, established in 1936, is India’s first national park and one of its finest. Located in the Himalayan foothills by the Ramganga river, it is notable not only for its rich and varied wildlife and bird life but also for its scenic charm and magnificent views. The Project Tiger program was inaugurated here in 1973. Apart from tigers, commonly seen animals include elephants, deer, monkeys, crocodiles etc. There are over 600 species of birds as well.
